Admission

Undergraduate Admission Requirement

All applicants are required to have the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result.

All applicants are required to have credits at SSCE, GCE, NECO, or approved equivalent in at least five (5) subjects, which must include English Language, Mathematics and three other subjects as may be specified by each programme.

The five credits should be obtained in not more than two sittings.
* Candidates awaiting results may also apply.
* Candidates must apply in person at the University.

Interested candidates who wish to change their Institutional first choice to Arthur Jarvis University are required to:
* Apply for change of institution through JAMB Portal.
* Print out new Admission Letter from JAMB Portal and present same to the Admissions Unit of the University.

Postgraduate Admission Requirments

  1. To be considered for a Master's degree, applicants must hold a first-class or second-class honors degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 on a 5-point scale or 2.50 on a 4-point scale.
  2. Alternatively, candidates with a Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant field and a CGPA of 3.50 on a 5-point scale may be eligible. 
  3. All Master's candidates are required to present and defend a concept note to the department as part of a qualifying examination and attend an interview. 
  4. Candidates with a Third Class or Pass Degree, or those with a Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Upper Credit, or an equivalent professional qualification, may be admitted to a Professional Master's Degree program if they also possess a relevant Postgraduate Diploma with a CGPA of 3.00 on a 5-point scale. 
  5. Finally, all applicants must submit at least two reference letters from a former Head of Department or Lecturer.

How To Apply For Admission

Step 1: Confirm Your Eligibility

Before applying, make sure you meet the university’s basic requirements:

  • UTME Candidates:
    • You must have sat for the JAMB UTME and scored at least 140 or above (AJU typically sets a lower cut-off than federal universities).
    • You must have at least five (5) credit passes in your O’Level results (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB), including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.
  • Direct Entry Candidates:
    • You should possess an NCE, ND, HND, IJMB, JUPEB or two A-Level passes relevant to your course of study.
    • Candidates with HND or other qualifications may be considered for 200 or 300 level, depending on their course.


Step 2: Visit the Admission Office or Apply Digitally

Unlike some universities, Arthur Jarvis University does not conduct Post-UTME exams. The application is screening-based and flexible.

  • You can visit the university campus in Akpabuyo, Calabar, to apply physically.
  • Or, send your scanned documents via WhatsApp to the university’s official admission lines for remote processing.


Step 3: Prepare and Submit the Following Documents

Whether applying in person or via WhatsApp, you’ll need:

  • UTME result slip
  • O’Level result(s)
  • Birth Certificate or Age Declaration
  • Local Government Identification
  • Passport Photograph
  • For Direct Entry: A-Level result, NCE/ND/HND transcript or statement of result


Step 4: Get Your Admission Reviewed

  • AJU admission team will review your documents based on department-specific requirements.
  • Since they operate a rolling admission model, you may get feedback within a few days to one week.
  • If you're eligible, you will receive an admission offer directly.


Step 5: Accept the Offer and Pay Acceptance Fee

Once admitted:

  • You’ll be directed to log into AJU's student portal to accept your offer and generate a Remita invoice.
  • Pay the acceptance fee at the bank or online and upload your payment evidence.
  • Print your admission letter through the portal.

He served variously as Special Adviser to H. E Donald Duke on Legislative Affairs; Deputy Chief of Staff to H. E Liyel Imoke; Special Adviser on Intergovernmental Affairs; Cross River State Liaison Officer, Abuja; Special Adviser to the Governor on Mineral Resources; Special Adviser on Strategic Policy and Advisory Council (SPAC);

Lady Mary further honed her skills during her time in different NYSC state formations and the Directorate Headquarters, where her ingenuity and unwavering commitment were evident. She excelled in roles as a Focal person in NYSC’s collaborations with INEC on Election matters and with UNICEF and other UN units on Reproductive health projects, achieving great milestones.

    Retiring as the pioneer Director of the department of Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship, Lady Mary Efiom Dan-Abia has left an indelible mark on the NYSC program. Her policies and programs have added inestimable value to the relevance of the scheme today. In addition to her achievements in the corporate world, she has shown entrepreneurial prowess in the manufacturing and processing industries.

    Her impressive journey continued as she was appointed to serve on the NYSC National Selection Committee since 2018, a testament to her expertise and leadership. In another significant endeavor, she played a pivotal role in establishing and administering the Arthur Jarvis University High School from inception until 2023. Her dedication and commitment were recognized with a promotion to Deputy Registrar in January 2023, and shortly after, she assumed the role of Ag. Registrar of the Arthur Jarvis University.

    Beyond her professional achievements, Lady Mary is renowned as a friend of the young people, serving as a youth counselor and motivational speaker. Her passion for empowering and inspiring the next generation is unrivaled, making her a true inspiration to all who cross her path.

Arthur Jarvis University (AJU) was founded by Sir Arthur Jarvis Archibong (KSJI) to actualize his dream of contributing to educational service delivery in Cross River State and Nigeria.

The University was granted a license in November 2016 by Federal Government of Nigeria to operate as a tertiary institution. The University commenced academic activities on March 6, 2017 with fifteen degree Programmes in two Faculties (Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences; and Faculty of Humanities, Management and Social Sciences).
