Undergraduate Admission Requirement

  • For undergraduate programmes these are expressed as tariff points from the UCAS tariff guide, a satisfactory portfolio of work and any accompanying requirements (e.g. English GCSE at Grade C/Grade 4 or above, specified overall number of GCSE passes); To apply through UCAS, you’ll need our institution code P65 and the relevant course code, which is available on each course page.

  • For postgraduate programmes these are normally a minimum of a 2:2 honours degree.

      UNDERGRADUATE

  • To apply through UCAS, you’ll need our institution code P65 and the relevant course code, which is available on each course page.
  • Log in to UCAS Apply — You can apply to all of our undergraduate courses through UCAS. Click here to login and if you need any support, you can call our Admissions team on +44 (0)1752 203400. UCAS charges a fee of £28.50 to make a multiple-choice application. 
  • If your application meets our entry requirements, we’ll invite you to submit your portfolio, so that we can review your work and find out more about your creative potential. You will have the opportunity to submit your portfolio digitally, or in person at one of our Applicant Experience Days. At an Applicant Experience Day, you'll also get the chance to discuss your portfolio with a member of our academic team.

 

      POSTGRADUATE

  • MA applicants are normally expected to have an undergraduate degree at 2:2 or above. However, the strength of your creative practice and other forms of experience will be taken into account at the interview stage and we encourage you to start a conversation with us.
  • You can apply for the postgraduate course you are interested in studying by clicking on the Apply Now link .
  • As part of the application, you will be asked to give the usual application details, to provide some digital images of your work, and to submit a short personal statement (300 words approximately). This personal statement is a chance to tell us what you want to do on your chosen MA. It might include details of the techniques or themes that you want to investigate, the creative practitioners that inspire you, the reading that fires your imagination, and your longer term professional goals.
  • If you meet the entrance requirements, the school will get back to you within three weeks of receiving your application to invite you for interview. You will have the opportunity to tell more about your work at this stage and to ask more questions about your course.

    University of Plymouth, Tim joined the staff team, (at what was then Plymouth College of Art and Design), in 2006 as a part time lecturer. After teaching across different courses in both FE and HE, Tim eventually became programme leader for our undergraduate photography provision in 2013, leading the writing and validation of BA Hons Commercial Photography degree. In 2016 he was awarded the Association of Photographers Tutor of the Year award, and In 2017 he completed an MA in Photography at the college. Tim moved into a cross University role in 2021, before being appointed as Assistant Dean in 2022.
