Undergraduate Admission Requirement

  1. Candidates who scored 140 marks or above in the last UTME (2024) are eligible for admission. Candidates must possess five (5) O’Level Credit passes (WASC/ SSCE/ GCE or equivalent) which must include English Language, Mathematics, and three (3) other relevant subjects at not more than two sittings. 
  2. NCE, HND, ND, JUPEB, and IJMB are the required results for the “DIRECT ENTRY” Candidate.
  3. Eligible candidates are advised to visit the JAMB portal to effect a change of institution and course (if necessary) to Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI) accordingly.

Prof. Olufemi Victor Adeoluwa

Prof. Olufemi Victor Adeoluwa, a Professor of Educational Technology, was born on 5th March, 1965. He is a native of Ado-Ekiti. He holds Bachelor of Education degree in History, Master’s degree in Educational Technology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Advertising and Ph.D in Curriculum and Instruction. State University (then Ondo State University) in 1990. He rose through the ranks to become a Professor in 2009.He delivered his Inaugural Lecture titled Learning Problems and the Technology of Education on the 5th March, 2013.

He gained his undergraduate and master’s qualifications at the University of Benin, Benin City and the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. He taught at Ekiti State University and lectured in Education Educational Technology for a few years before he obtained his PhD in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Ado-Ekiti. He rose from assistant lecturer to the professorship cadre at Ekiti State University. His research interests lie in curriculum and instruction and Educational Technology. A significant proportion of his work has been with curriculum and instruction, educational technology, Instructional Material and Learning Technologies, Programmed Instruction in Education Practice and Historical Context, videotape and picture instructional technologies.

    Prof. Aturamu’s career in academia spans several decades. He began as an Assistant Lecturer in Agricultural Economics at the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti in 1993 and rose through the ranks to become a Chief Lecturer in 2011. He served as Deputy Provost and a member of the Management Team at the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti for two terms from October 2014 to September 2018. He represented the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti at the Office of Transformation, Strategy, and Delivery (OTSD), Ekiti State from February 2019 to 2020. Since 2013, he has been an external examiner and moderator for the Department of Agricultural Education at Adeyemi College of Education.

    Dr. Adekunmisi’s educational journey began at Bodija International School in Ibadan, Oyo State, for her nursery education and completed her primary education at Abadina Primary School, University of Ibadan. She then proceeded to Emmanuel College, Orita, UI, Ibadan, for her secondary education in 1980. Between September 1985 and June 1987, she furthered her studies at St. Louis Grammar School, Akure, Ondo State, where she studied science subjects. These experiences paved the way for her to pursue a Bachelor of Agriculture (B. Agric) with specialisation in Animal Production at Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University, O.O.U.), which she completed between 1989 and 1994.

History

The University was established on October 16, 2020, following its upgrade from a College of Education to a full-fledged University. This milestone marked a significant transformation in its academic and institutional status. Shortly after, the University received its operational license from the National Universities Commission (NUC) on November 6, 2020, granting it the authority to commence academic and administrative operations.

e NUC approved 45-degree programmes for the University on March 31, 2021, setting the stage for academic excellence.

The journey of the University as an institution of higher learning fully commenced with the resumption of the pioneer set of students on July 12, 2021, young minds brimming with dreams, stepping into a world of limitless possibilities. This inaugural cohort of students formally took their place in the academic community during the Maiden Matriculation Ceremony on October 6, 2021, where 2,401 students were matriculated.
