Bauchi State University is a public university in Bauchi State, Nigeria. It was originally named Bauchi State University Gadau (BASUG) but has since been renamed to Sa'adu Zungur University (SAZU).

Undergraduate Admission Requirement

  1. Candidates must ensure that they upload their O-level results on the JAMB Portal at any JAMB Accredited Centre before appearing for screening.
  2. Two (2) to three (3) days after a successful screening, candidates should check the JAMB Portal to accept and print their JAMB admission letters. Only candidates who take their admissions on the JAMB Portal will be able to access the Sa'adu Zungur University admission on the University portal.

Postgraduate Admission Requirments

  1. You need at least five O'Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics (for science, social science, and management courses). 
  2. You will also need a relevant first degree, with specific grade requirements varying depending on the program, such as a Second Class Honours (Lower Division) for postgraduate degrees.

  1. O' Level Result: A computer printout of your SSCE or O'Level result (original and photocopy).
  2. JAMB Result: A copy of your JAMB result.
  3. Undergraduate Degree 
  4. Online Screening Form: The online screening form you filled out.
  5. Passport Photograph: A recent passport photograph.

How To Apply For Admission

ACCOUNT ACTIVATION

  1. Click on New Application.
  2. Enter your name, and a valid phone number (ensure that it is your phone number for it will be used in subsequent communication with you).
  3. You will be redirected to the login page.

LOGIN

  1. Use your phone number (The one you entered earlier) as your Username as well as password.
  2. A successful login will take you to the welcome page.

PAYMENT

  1. Confirm your information on the page and proceed to select a payment method. After a successful payment, you would proceed to fill your application form. 
  2. You are required to enter your personal information including your names and other relevant information. A valid phone number is required which is going to be the primary communication medium in regards to your application.

CHOICE OF PROGRAMME

  1. You are required to select the choice of your programme of study from the list of available programmes.
  2. You are expected to enter not more than two sittings of O’level Examination results
  3. In addition to the above, DE applicants are expected to enter institution, class of diploma/statement of result obtained (ND, HND, NCE, A’level).
  4. You are expected to enter grade details of relevant O’level results (SSCE/WAEC/GCE/NECO/TCII etc).
  5. You are also required to specify the centre number and exam number of all the results you have entered.

UPLOADING YOUR PASSPORT PHOTOGRAPH

  1. You are required to upload your recent passport photograph that is very clear and with a plain background. 
  2. The picture should be a JPEG format and not more than 50kb in size.

APPLICATION SUBMISSION

  1. After filling all the necessary information, you should submit the application by clicking on the 'Submit application’ button. 
  2. Before final submission of the application, cross check to ensure all the information are correct. 
  3. This is because after any of the information.

PRINTING OF APPLICATION FORM

  1. After successful submission of the application, your application page is displayed. 
  2. The Serial Number on your slip is your Application ID as well as your login username. 
  3. Click on Print Application to print it.

AT SCREENING CENTERS

  1. Before your application can be processed, you must attend the screening in person.
  2. You are required to present the originals of your relevant credentials (O' level results, JAMB result/acknowledgment slip, A’ level results, diploma or IJMB - as applicable to you.).
  3. Photocopies of all results presented will be submitted at the center.
  4. The photocopy of O’level certificate/statement of result(s) will be accompanied by appropriate utility card (scratch card for accessing result) of the examination body.
  5. You are to submit photocopy of indigene letter, certificate of birth/declaration of age and a copy of the printed post UTME application form.

APPLICATION STATUS

  1. You will be contacted via SMS on your phone for the date, time and venue for your screening.

Professor Fatima Ja’afar Tahir

Born on 8 February 1966, Professor Tahir is from the family of Alhaji Ja’afar Tahir and is the younger sister of the late Dr. Ibrahim Tahir.

Her academic career began at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, where she obtained her first degree in microbiology, as well as her master's and doctoral degrees in the same field.

Professor Tahir's professional journey began in 1991 as a Graduate Assistant at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University. Her dedication led her to achieve the rank of Professor of Microbiology in 2009. She is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the Nigerian Society for Microbiology (NSM), the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST), the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), and the Society for Applied Microbiology (SFAM), among others.
