Crescent University, Abeokuta, was established in 2005 under the Islamic Mission for Africa (IMA). It aims to provide world-class education guided by Islamic principles, focusing on both academic excellence and moral integrity. Undergraduate Admission Requirement

General Admission Requirements

  • A minimum of five credits in SSCE, GCE, NECO, or any approved equivalent.
  • The five credits must include English Language and Mathematics and any other 3 subjects as specified by each department. Please refer to the departmental requirements by going to the College page.
  • The five credits should be obtained in no more than two sittings and must have been obtained within the last five years. Candidates awaiting results may also apply.
  • Candidates who have chosen Crescent University as their preferred institution and have achieved an acceptable score in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be offered admission through JAMB.
  • These candidates must also obtain the university’s screening form via the e-portal and pass the oral interview conducted as a prerequisite for admission.
  • All applicants must participate in Crescent University’s screening exercise as admission will not be offered without completing the screening process.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements

  • NCE, OND, and their approved equivalents in relevant fields, with at least an Upper Credit level.
  • Advanced Level passes or their equivalents in relevant subjects are accepted.
  • The O’Level requirements stated above must also be fulfilled.
  • The Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) at acceptable grade levels is also considered.
  • In exceptional cases, holders of OND with lower credit from recognized institutions may be admitted to 200 level (Part II) in relevant degree programs.
  • Similarly, HND holders with lower credit from recognized institutions may be admitted to the 200 level in relevant degree programs.
  • Candidates must pass interviews conducted by the University.

Transfer Candidates

  • Make payment and submit an Application via our E-Portal page.
  • Hold the minimum entry requirements for admission into the university.
  • Ensure that the transcript of academic records and a special confidential report from appropriate officials of their current institution are received in the Admissions Office of Crescent University at least two months before the commencement of the intended session for which admission is sought.
  • Have a CGPA of not less than 1.5.

Postgraduate Admission Requirments

Postgraduate Diploma

To be eligible for the award of the Postgraduate Diploma Degree, a student must satisfy the following graduation requirements:

  • Registered and passed a minimum of 30 credit units made up as follows:
  1. Ten core courses (2 credits each) – 20 units
  2. Three courses from area of concentration (2 credits each) – 6 units
  3. Research Project – 4 units
    Total Units –  30 units
  • The minimum pass score shall be 50%; continuous assessment shall constitute 30% of the examination for each course..
  • To be in good standing, a student must in each semester have a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of not less than 2.40.
  • A student whose Cumulative Grade Point Average is below 2.40 at the end of a particular year of study, shall be placed on probation for one academic session.

Master’s Degree

  • Registered and passed a minimum of 30 credit units made up as follows:
  1. Ten core courses (2 credits each) – 20 units
  2. Three courses from area of concentration (2 credits each) – 6 units
  3. Research Project – 4 units
    Total Units –  30 units
  • The minimum pass score shall be 50%; continuous assessment shall constitute 30% of the examination for each course..
  • To be in good standing, a student must in each semester have a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of not less than 2.40.
  • A student whose Cumulative Grade Point Average is below 2.40 at the end of a particular year of study, shall be placed on probation for one academic session.

MBA


Passed a minimum of 72 Credit Units, including all the compulsory courses. The requirement is broken down as follows:

  1. 19 Core Courses of 3 Units each – 57 Units
  2. 3 Electives courses of 3 Units each – 9 Units
  3. MBA Project/Field Report – 6 Units
    TOTAL UNITS – 72 UNITS
  • The minimum pass score shall be 50%; continuous assessment shall constitute 30% of the examination for each course.
  • Students must carry out a field study relevant to their optional area and submit an acceptable project/report.

Master of Philosophy

  • Registered and passed a minimum of 30 credit units made up as follows:
  1. Ten core courses (2 credits each) – 20 units
  2. Three courses from area of concentration (2 credits each) – 6 units
  3. Research Project – 4 units

How To Apply For Admission

Undergraduate Admission 

Step 1: Obtain the UTME form

  • Applicant are require to Obtain and sit for the UTME form for the current year and score a minimum of 180 marks.

Step 2: Pay Application Fee

  • If you pass the cut off mark, you are required to visit the e-Portal to make a payment of Ten thousand naira (N10,000) application fee.
  • After making your payment online, you can apply for admission via the portal.

Step 3: Pay your Screening Fee

Make a payment of One thousand naira (N1,000) as a Screening fee via the e-portal and wait to be invited for a screening exercise.

Step 4: Accept your Admission Offer 

Accept the admission offer when you successfully pass the screening exercise and proceed with the registration exercise.

Postgraduate Admission 

Step 1: Visit the e-Portal

Visit the e-portal and select a PG programme of choice. Also complete the Pre-application to get a reference number.

Step 2: Pay Application Fee 

Proceed to make payment of the non-refundable Application fee of N50,000.00 (Fifty Thousand Naira only).

Step 3: Complete Application Form 

Completely fill all required fields of the application form and upload all necessary documents in the right formats as requested.

Step 4: Submit Application 

Confirm all details you’ve provided and click submit. Editing already submitted applications attracts additional payment fine of N1,000.

Joining Crescent University in 2010/2011 as the Deputy Vice Chancellor and Professor of Virology, Professor Gbajabiamila has been instrumental in the university’s success. Under his guidance, the university achieved 100% accreditation for all its programs. Graduates of Crescent University have excelled, with many earning first-class honors at the Nigerian Law School and securing coveted positions in prestigious organizations such as the BBC, CBN, Nigeria Customs, and Nestle Foods. During his tenure, the College of Health Sciences, which includes departments of Nursing, Anatomy, and Physiology, was established.

Beyond his expertise in Virology, Professor Gbajabiamila is a passionate advocate for Yoruba culture and language. He actively promotes its preservation and has delivered masterclasses on various topics related to Yoruba communication, film narratives in Yoruba movies, and the history of Yoruba theater.     Continuing his legal education, Barrister ZA Ajibola attended the IMLI Institute in Malta, where he earned an LLM degree. In 2000, he qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales. Throughout his career, he has practiced law in both the public and private sectors in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

    Barrister ZA Ajibola is a member of various professional organizations, including the International Bar Association, the Nigerian Bar Association, the Law Society of England and Wales, and the London Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He has also been associated with the Association of University Administrators in the UK.

    Alhaji Jimoh Bankole served his NYSC at the University of Ife and started his career as an Internal Auditor II at the same institution. He later transferred his service to the University of Ibadan, where he rose through the ranks to become the University Bursar in 1999. He held the position for two terms, until September 2009. During this time, he obtained a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Ibadan in 1996.
