The Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) is a Nigerian university located in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State. It was established in 2013, with the vision of becoming a technology-driven center of excellence in innovation, teaching, and research.     The university operates from two campuses: the take-off campus located along Kalgo Road and the permanent site at Unguwar Jeji. The permanent site is gradually being developed and houses some faculties, administrative buildings, and student hostels. The university has laboratories, a central library, lecture theatres, and ICT centres to support teaching and research.

    All programs are approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC), ensuring high standards. The accredited programmes cut across the Faculty of Arts, Social and Management Sciences and the Faculty of Science.

Undergraduate Admission Requirement

For UTME

  • Applicant must choose FUBK as your first choice in JAMB. 
  • Applicant must have scored 140 or more in your UTME.
     

Direct Entry

  • Applicant must choose FUBK as your first choice in JAMB. 
  • Applicant must have at least Lower Credit in your National Diploma (ND).
  •  Or have 7 points from IJMB or NCE.

Postgraduate Admission Requirments

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

  • A Bachelor’s degree with at least a Third Class or Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least Lower Credit from a recognized institution.

Master’s Degree (M.Sc., M.A., M.Ed., etc.)

  • A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower honors (2.2) from a recognized university.
  • Candidates with a Third Class or HND and relevant experience may apply for the program after completing a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD).

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

  • A Master’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5-point scale.
  • In certain cases, candidates with a Second Class Lower Bachelor’s degree, subject to department approval, can be considered for direct entry into the Ph.D. program.

General Requirements

  • Candidates must have a minimum of five credits in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.
  • National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate or exemption letter for all candidates.
  • Transcripts of academic records from all previous institutions attended.
  • Letters of recommendation from at least two academic or professional referees.
  • Statement of Purpose or Research Proposal (especially for research-based programs like Ph.D.).
  • Proof of proficiency in the English Language (if required).

Those who meet the requirements outlined above depending on the program they prefer are automatically eligible for admission. All they are expected to do is wait for the release of the FUBK Postgraduate admission form and apply for the course they prefer.

How To Apply For Admission

Step 1: Meet JAMB Requirements

  • You must have chosen FBUK as your First Choice on JAMB.
  • Achieve at least five (5) SSCE credits, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.

Step 2: Start Your Application

  • Go to https://eforms.fubk.edu.ng Click on “Create Account” if this is your first time. 
  • Use your email and password to log in. Select either Post UTME or Direct Entry form. 
  • Enter your JAMB number and confirm your information. If everything is correct, move to the next step. 

Step 3: Pay required application fee & Upload Supporting Documents

  • After submitting your application, ensure you upload or prepare for submission of:
  • Generate an invoice to pay N2,000. Pay the money using the available bank or online options. 
  • Fill in your O’Level (and A’Level if needed). 

Step 4: Submit & Track your Admission 

  • Double-check your information and click “Submit.”
  • Monitor your admission status on your ADUN portal account and JAMB CAPS portal (acceptance must be done there)
  • Obtain your JAMB Provisional Admission Letter from the CAPS portal
  • Visit the FUBK registration portal (www.portal.fubk.edu.ng) to generate a Remita invoice for the acceptance fee.
