The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) emerged as the best institution at the second edition of National Statistics Competition held in Kwali, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the competition, organised by Nigerian Statistical Association (NSA) had 42 final year students from 21 tertiary institutions in attendance.

The erudite scholar joined the services of the University of Ilorin in July 1992 as an Assistant Lecturer and was appointed a Professor in September 2011. Prior to joining the University, she worked as Research and Development Officer at Kwara Breweries Limited, Offa.
With over 29 years of continuous service in the university system, Prof. Adenike Oladiji has mentored many doctoral students and supervised to completion many doctoral theses. She has held various positions and served on many University Committees as Chairman or Member. She was Head of Department; Sub Dean of Faculty; Deputy Director, Centre for International Education; Director, Centre for Research Development and In-House Training (CREDIT); Director, Central Research Laboratories; Coordinator, U6 Consortium (a consortium of six universities across Africa); Dean, School Of Basic Medical Sciences (Kwara State University, Malete); Coordinator, Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer office, University of Ilorin; Board Member, Technology Incubation Centre, Ilorin: Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences and Member, Governing Council, Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa and Crown Hill University, Eiyenkorin, Ilorin.
He obtained his Bachelor of Science B.Sc. (Hons) in Physics, Master of Science (M.Sc) Solid State Physics and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Condensed Matter Physics in 1990, 1998 and 2009 respectively from the Nigeria’s premier University of Ibadan. In his quest for in-depth knowledge in his chosen career, Prof. Oluyamo trained as a professional teacher at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife from 2000 to 2002 where he bagged the Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).
Professor Oluyamo started his academic career at the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State as a Graduate Assistant in 1992 and rose to the position of Lecturer II in 1998. His desire to be fully integrated into the academic circle engendered a very short period at the Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, Ondo State from 1999 to 2000.
Born and raised in Akure, Ondo State, Peter began his education at L.A. Primary School 1, Akure (1971–1976) and attended Aquinas College, Akure (1978–1983). He later pursued remedial studies at the Ministry of Education School of Remedial Studies, Akure (1984–1985).
He earned his B.Sc. in Accounting from the University of Ilorin in January 1992 and further advanced his career with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Federal University of Technology, Akure in July 2011. His professional qualifications are backed by his G.C.E. O’ Level achievements in June 1983 and June 1985.
Peter’s professional journey reflects his dedication to excellence in accounting and financial administration. Beyond his university role, he maintains active membership in ICAN, upholding the highest standards of the accounting profession.
