Undergraduate Admission Requirement
- ONLY candidates that are at least 16 years old, are ELIGIBLE to apply.
- ONLY candidates that scored a minimum of 150 in their UTME are ELIGIBLE to apply.
- Each candidate must ensure that his/her JAMB subject combination is as prescribed in the JAMB brochure for the programme applied for.
- Candidates who did not choose FUTO as first choice University but scored a minimum of 150 can also apply on the condition that they visit the JAMB CAPS and change to FUTO.
- Only candidates with at least 5 O’Level Credit passes in English Language and Mathematics, with three other relevant O’Level subjects (depending on the programme) at not more than two sittings are eligible to apply. Candidates for the MBBS programme must have at least 5 O’Level Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at ONE SITTINGs.
- Direct Entry candidates must be holders of OND/HND/First Degree and A'Level in relevant disciplines and subjects.

Postgraduate Admission Requirments
- The Postgraduate School, Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for consideration for admission into the underlisted Diploma, Masters and Doctorate Degree programmes for the 2023/2024 session under Regular, Centre for Continuing Education (Weekend), Institute of Women/Gender and Development Studies (IWoGDS), Institute of Erosion Studies (IES) and Public Procurement Research Centre (PPRC).
- Any interested candidate should pay a non-refundable fee of Eleven Thousand, Three Hundred Naira (N11,300) only through the University website and as well fill the application form online

How To Apply For Admission
To register, follow these steps:
- Visit the University website: www.futo.edu.ng, Click on “Prospective Students” then Click on “Undergraduate”
OR Use this link: https://portal.futo.edu.ng/#undergraduate - Click on “Generate invoice”
- Enter your JAMB Registration Number to generate Payment Invoice containing the Remita Retrieval Reference Number (RRR).
- Proceed to any Bank with the payment invoice OR simply pay with your ATM Card.
- Return to the Application portal: https://portal.futo.edu.ng/#undergraduate
- Click on “Application Form”
- Enter your JAMB Registration number and click on “Login”.
- Proceed with the completion of the form.
- Correctly enter all your details as required.
- Confirm your entries.
- Submit your application (Note that your application is COMPLETED only when you click “Submit”).
- Print out your acknowledgement slip.
- Await further communication from the University.
Important Notices
- Ensure that your details on JAMB CAPS match what you have on the Post-UTME application portal. For instance, ensure that you use your correct JAMB Registration number, date of birth, state of origin, etc. for application.
- You must enter a valid mobile number and e-mail address for further communication.
- You must upload your O’Level results on JAMB CAPS. To ensure that your O’Level results are uploaded on CAPS, click ”Refresh” after entering your results.
- Those who fail to register within the period stipulated WILL NOT be considered for the Exercise.

M.Sc in Soil Microbiology/Biochemistry from the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), before proceeding to the Katholieke Universitiet Leuven, Belgium, where she bagged a PGD (Distinction) in Irrigation Engineering. In 2002, Nnenna broke an unusual record when she won the NUC – Best PhD in Nigeria Award.She transferred her services from UNN to FUTO 30 years ago. Her service in FUTO includes 3 cycles as the Head of Department of Soil Science and Technology; 4 years as Dean of Post Graduate School and Chairman, Committee of Deans. Her duties have also included membership of University Senate, joint Council/Senate Committees, Faculty and Departmental Boards and Chairmanship of several Committees.

The Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) as the Oldest University of Technology in Nigeria, was established in 1980 by Executive fiat with the composition and appointment of the first provisional Council by Nigeria’s First Executive President, Shehu Shagari. It became the first of three such Universities set up by the Federal Government of Nigeria who sought to establish a University of Technology in each geo-political region and particularly in a State which did not have a conventional University.
