She completed a BSc Animal Science at Nottingham Trent University with focus on the water shrew. This led to me spending several months in the cloud forests of Nicaragua, working on baseline biodiversity surveys of this little-studied Central American country. She completed my MRes in Biodiversity and Conservation at the University of Leeds in 2008. After teaching at Nottingham Trent University for two years I joined the team at Hartpury and completed my PhD with the University of Reading in 2021.
Moved into agricultural education in 2010 as a lecturer/manager in further and higher education ranging from GCSE to MSc. Taught subjects included livestock production, farm and strategic management and waste management. She has been in my current role since March 2015 with responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the University's agriculture department.

Her roles have encompassed Executive responsibility for Student Administration, Student Experience and Support, Quality and Enhancement, School Operations, the Library, Legal and Compliance and supporting, guiding and advising the Chair of Council (the University’s governing body) and the wider Council.

Hartpury remained relatively unchanged until 1990, when a new Principal initiated a rapid expansion programme, starting with the provision of a larger variety of college courses.
