Kwararafa University Wukari is a private university located in Wukari, Nigeria, and the first community-promoted university in the country. It was licensed as Wukari Jubilee by the National Universities Commission in 2005 and later changed its name to Kwararafa in 2012. The university's motto is "Education for Total Development".

Mission

To produce graduates who are well-rounded in their disciplines and also imbued with necessary entrepreneurial skill to contribute meaningfully to the dvvelopment of themselves in particular and society in general.

Undergraduate Admission Requirement

A. General Entry Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) credit passes in O’Level (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB).
  • Credits must include English Language and Mathematics.
  • Results must be obtained in not more than two sittings.
  • Must have written the UTME (JAMB) and scored at least 140 or above.
  • Must have selected Kwararafa University, Wukari as first or second choice in JAMB.
  • Candidates who did not initially choose KUW can apply via JAMB Change of Institution.
  • Participation in the university screening exercise is mandatory.

B. Direct Entry Requirements

  • Minimum of two A-Level passes in relevant subjects.
  • Or a National Diploma (ND), NCE, or HND with at least Lower Credit in a related field.
  • Must register for JAMB Direct Entry.
  • Transcripts and academic records must be sent to the Registrar, KUW.

Supporting Documents

  • JAMB Result Slip.
  • O’Level Certificate or Statement of Result.
  • Birth Certificate or Age Declaration.
  • Local Government Identification Certificate.
  • Acceptance Fee Receipt.
  • School Fees Payment Receipt.
  • Post-UTME Screening Form Printout.
  • Eight (8) recent passport-sized photographs.

Postgraduate Admission Requirments

A. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

  • Bachelor’s degree with Third Class or HND (Upper Credit) in a relevant discipline.
  • NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.

B. Master’s Degree (M.Sc., MBA, MA)

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division.
  • NYSC Certificate (Discharge/Exemption).
  • Official Academic Transcript required.

C. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

  • Master’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.5/5.0 in the relevant field.
  • Research proposal and academic references required.

  • Wait for admission notification via SMS or email.

Postgraduate Admission

  • Access the School of Postgraduate Studies portal.
  • Create an applicant account.
  • Pay the application fee through the university’s payment system.
  • Complete the online postgraduate application form.
  • Upload scanned copies of all documents.
  • Ensure your academic transcript is sent directly to KUW.

Prof.Sunday Paul Bako

With more than three decades of work experience in the University system, Prof. S. P. Bako started his career as a Graduate Assistant with the Department of Biological Sciences, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1987. He rose through the ranks and became a Professor in 2006. Before he was appointed Vice-Chancellor of Taraba State University on 1st March 2022, the astute University administrator was the immediate past Vice-Chancellor of Kwararafa University Wukari.
