History

Leeds Trinity University began in 1966 as two separate Roman Catholic teacher training colleges, Trinity College for women and All Saints College for men, to meet the demand for new teachers. It later merged, expanded its course offerings, and became Leeds Trinity University College in 2009 after gaining taught-degree awarding powers. The institution achieved full university status and is now known for its focus on employability and professional work placements, a pioneering aspect of its history.
