About

The Michael and Cecilia Ibru University (MCIU) has been established to produce high-quality graduates of international standard, who can compete favourably with their counterparts anywhere, anytime in the world. The programmes and academic calendar are designed to enable students to graduate within the stipulated period and duration of the study. Students shall graduate, skills, competencies and high moral integrity. Work ethics of diligence and passion for excellence are inculcated into undergraduates. Daily devotions (morning and evening) are part of activities in the University.

The focus is on the all-around development of the individual member of the university community without discrimination on the basis of gender, ethnicity or religion. Students will receive a quality education in line with international standards and will be ready to stand the challenges of work, life and spirituality.

Objectives

In a bid to achieve its mission, the Michael and Cecilia Ibru University shall:

  1. Produce skilled high-level manpower who are globally competitive and, irrespective of their course of study, shall be independent, self-employed, and relevant to the private and public sectors of the Nigerian economy and international development.
  2. Encourage the advancement of learning and to hold out to all persons without distinction of race, creed, sex, or political conviction the opportunity of acquiring a higher and liberal education.
  3. Create a stimulating and challenging academic environment, provide requisite facilities for the pursuit of effective teaching, learning, research, and the acquisition of a liberal education as are appropriate for a University of the highest standing as well as make those facilities available on proper terms to such persons as are equipped to benefit from the use of the facilities.
  4. Advance scholarship, knowledge, research, and professionalism; and to promote by research and other means the advancement of knowledge and its practical application to social, moral, cultural, economic, scientific, and technological problems in relevant fields of learning.
  5. Promote excellence in science and technology to meet the challenges of the global village.
  6. Inculcate creative and innovative values as well as entrepreneurial capacities in students and foster in them an orientation consistent with the philosophy of the University of producing disciplined, upright, morally and ethically sound, cultured, and patriotic men and women so as to make them more relevant to the national development process thereby ushering in the new Nigeria of our collective dream.

Undergraduate Admission Requirement

UTME Admission (100-Level)

To qualify for undergraduate admission via UTME, applicants must:

  1. Have five (5) O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.
  2. Score at least the minimum JAMB UTME cut-off mark (see below).
  3. Choose MCIU as their first-choice institution during JAMB registration.
  4. Participate in and pass the university’s Post-UTME screening.
  5. Present original O’Level results; awaiting results are not accepted .

Direct Entry Admission (200-Level)

  1. Hold a recognized qualification such as OND, NCE, IJMB, JUPEB, or A-Levels in relevant subject areas.
  2. Fulfill the O’Level requirements listed above.
  3. Apply through the JAMB Direct Entry portal and submit transcripts and supporting documents for university evaluation.

  1. Original and photocopied documents, including O'Level results with at least 5 credits (including Mathematics, & English)

Postgraduate Admission Requirments

  1. An applicant for Postgraduate studies must have met the normal undergraduate requirements of at least five relevant O’ level credits or a combination of relevant O’ level credits and A ‘level qualifications (in a maximum of 2 sittings) such as IJMB, HND, HSC, NCE, etc. 
  2. Applicants need to submit a completed application form along with photocopies of relevant documents.

How To Apply For Admission

  1. Read the PG Application Form carefully from start to finish.
  2. Gather and scan your required certificates and documents.
  3. Fill the PG Application Form and attach the scanned copies.
  4. Pay N20,000 PG Application fee into Zenith Bank: Account name MCIU Postgraduate Collection, Account number 1228993761. Use the reference PG Admissions.
  5. Scan your bank payment teller.
  6. Email the scanned teller to [email protected] and [email protected]. Include your full name, phone number, and intended programme in the email.

    ge in Kano, ABU Zaria and the University of Ibadan. From these schools, he was able to receive his Standard Seven, Grade II, NCE, B.Ed, M.Ed and PhD certificates. For his M.Ed. and PhD degrees, he was able to study Educational Evaluation at the University of Ibadan.

History

Michael and Cecilia Ibru University was established in 2015 with a vision to provide quality and cutting-edge education in Nigeria. MCIU was granted an operating license on March 5, 2015, by the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to “operate as a Private University in Nigeria”. MCIU has positioned herself to be a premier higher institution of learning in Nigeria; which shall, in every sense and standard, be renowned for providing quality and cutting-edge education. In January 2019, Michael and Cecilia Ibru University was fully (100%) accredited for all its courses by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
