Nile University of Nigeria is a private multidisciplinary university established in 2009 and located in Abuja, Nigeria. It is a member of the Honoris United Universities Network and accredited by the National Universities Commission. Currently, it has eight faculties and a School of Postgraduate Studies offering 34 undergraduate programs and 47 postgraduate programs.

Admission

Undergraduate Admission Requirement

 

• Minimum of five (5) credit passes in O’Level examinations (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB).
• Must include English Language and Mathematics.
• Results must be obtained in not more than two sittings.
• A minimum UTME (JAMB) score of 160 or above.
• Candidate must have selected Nile University of Nigeria as first choice in JAMB.
• Direct Entry applicants must possess at least Lower Credit in ND/NCE or two A-Level passes in relevant subjects.
• Participation in the University Screening Exercise is mandatory.

• Four (4) recent passport-sized photographs.

Postgraduate Admission Requirments

A. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

• Bachelor’s degree with at least Third Class or HND (Upper Credit) in a related discipline.
• NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.

B. Master’s Degree (M.Sc., MBA, MA, MPA)

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division from a recognized university.
• NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.
• Official academic transcript from previous institution.

C. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

• Master’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.5/5.0 in a relevant field.
• Research proposal in intended area of specialization.
• Two academic reference letters.

  In 2016, she was awarded a Doctoral Research Fellowship by the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), Trieste, Italy tenable at the University of Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa. History

The University was established to provide high-quality tertiary education for the country’s ever-increasing number of secondary school leavers. At the time of formation, Nile University had three faculties (Arts & Social Sciences, Engineering, and Natural & Applied Sciences) and 93 students.
