The University is located at Ipetumodu, a town in Osun State, six kilometers (6km) away from Ile-Ife. it is on a parcel of land of about one hundred (100) hectares and is already fairly developed with some infrastructure that will  adequately serve for the institutions permanent site. there is enough room and opportunity for expansion if more land is required in the nearest future. The University has many surrounding towns serving as feeders and support in all is day-to-day activities i.e economically, socially, politically, technologically, etc.

The surrounding towns include: Ipetumodu, Ashipa, Akinlalu, Moror, Edunabon, Yakoyo, Gbongan and Ile-Ife.

Mission

The mission of the University is “to create a learning environment for students as well as to cultivate and nurture the qualities of human beings with a view to contributing towards meeting the economic, scientific and technological needs of humanity.”

The vision of the University is “to provide a well – balanced education without discrimination, for the production of versatile graduates with capacity for entrepreneurship for the development of the nation.”

  4. Student Unionism

    The University has a Student Welfare Board which is constituted by the best students drawn from each of the existing Departments. The Board is an Umbrella Union for all the University students.

    The students express their opinions through their representatives in the Board. This promotes a cordial relationship between the Management and the students. No traditional students union.

Undergraduate Admission Requirement

UTME

  1. The minimum entry requirement for undergraduate programmes at Oduduwa University is for candidates who have sat for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Exam (UTME) and with minimum of 5 O’Level credits in relevant subjects obtained in not more than two sittings. 
  2. The subjects must include English Language, Mathematics and one relevant subject obtained at not more than two sittings. 
  3. There are other requirements peculiar to some certain colleges and departments.
  4. Prospective students must attain the UTME cut off mark. 

DIRECT ENTRY

  1. 2 or 3 A’ Level Credit Passes are required.
  2. OND, HND, NCE or other Certificates from a recognized institution are accepted for Direct Entry.

Postgraduate Admission Requirments

Ph.D. Degree Programmes

Candidates seeking admission into the Doctor of Philosophy programme must have an academic master’s degree from Oduduwa University or any other recognized university with a minimum CGPA of 4.00 on a scale of 5.00

Masters Degree Programmes

Academic Masters

  • Candidates for academic master programmes with first degree from Oduduwa University, or any other recognized University, must possess a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) in the relevant field, or
  • A relevant Postgraduate Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 from Oduduwa University or any recognized University.

Professional Masters

  • Candidates for professional master degree must possess a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) degree in the relevant area from Oduduwa University Ipetumodu, or any recognized university.
  • A postgraduate diploma in the relevant area not below classification of lower credit from Oduduwa University or any recognized university could be considered, provided candidates satisfy the conditions for postgraduate diploma as indicated above.

He became a Graduate Assistant in 1995 and rose through the ranks to become a full Professor of Computer Science in 2013. He is the first substantive Professor of Computer Science in Lagos State University (LASU). His research and teaching career cover 2 Universities in Nigeria and 3 Universities in the United Kingdom; these are, University of Ado Ekiti, Lagos State University, University of Birmingham (England, UK), Newcastle University (England, UK) and University of Edinburgh (Scotland, UK). He was the HOD of Computer Science in LASU from 2014 to 2018, Dean of the Faculty of Science from 2018 to 2020, Chairman of LASU ICT Advisory Board from 2016 to December 2020 and the Director of ICT from July 2020 to December 2020.     n, he attended Ansar-ud-Deen School, Ogbon- Agbara, Ile-Ife between 1955 and 1961, after which he proceeded to Ansar-ud-Deen Secondary Modern School, Iloro, Ile-Ife between 1962 and 1964. In view of his father’s ardent love for Arabic, he took what seemed an unpopular decision within his community at that time to enrol the young Muibi at Arabic Institute of Nigeria,Elekuro, Ibadan in 1965 where he pursued Arabic and Islamic learning for four years. In consequence, of his brilliant performance in the school, he was selected by the school authority to undergo 1-year Certificate Course in Arabic at the University of Ibadan in 1968 which he completed successfully. Professor Opeloye had his first degree in Education (with Arabic and Islamic Studies as teaching subjects) at the University of Ibadan between 1974 and 1978 and graduatedwith 2nd class upper division. He obtained his Masters and Ph. D degrees in Islamic Studies at the University of Ilorin in 1982 and 1988 respectively Professor Opeloye is a teacher per excellence. He has taught virtually at every level of educational system in Nigeria. In 1969, on completing his certificate course, he taught at Ansar-ud-Deen Primary School Ogbondo, Ile-Ife.
