Private accommodation:
When you move into private, rented student accommodation you will need to pay energy bills. These will include electricity, gas and water and are usually paid on either a monthly, 3-monthly or 6-monthly basis, depending on the arrangements you have made with your utilities providers.

A graduate of the National University of Ireland (Maynooth) and the University of Wales, Brendan has worked in higher education since 1994 at Aberystwyth University, Cardiff University and the London School of Economics.
Cathy began her career in retail, joining Sainsbury's on their graduate training programme after completing her degree at Leeds University. From Sainsbury's Cathy went on to work at Homebase and from there joined the global advertising agency Ogilvy and Mather (part of WPP).
In her role at Oxford Brookes, Cathy provides leadership for the University to ensure financial sustainability, provision of legal services and advice, business support to research, knowledge exchange and support for student enterprise, and strategic procurement.

As Academic Registrar since September 2016, John provides leadership of academic and professional support services in relation to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The Directorate of ASA works closely with colleagues in the academic Faculties and other Directorates.
Five years later the School of Science was incorporated. Classes in a range of scientific and technical subjects were available. As well as evening classes in the University Museum. In 1891 the School was taken over by the Technical Instruction Committee (part of Oxford City Council), and renamed Oxford City Technical School.

In 1949, the School moves to a 25-acre site in Headington. Brookes referred to the move as 'setting foot in the Promised Land'. Lord Nuffield laid the foundation stone six years later. Over the years there were more merges and name changes. Finally in 1992 it was named Oxford Brookes University.
