Founded in 2009, Salem University takes its name from the Hebrew for “peace,” drawing inspiration from Melchizedek’s gift of blessing in Genesis 14:18–19. Nestled in a serene campus environment, Salem brings together rigorous academics and spiritual formation in five distinct Faculties/Colleges plus the Centre for Continuing Education & Entrepreneurial Studies (CCE&ES). We offer undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programmes designed to equip graduates for leadership, service and lifelong learning.
Salem University’s crest tells our story at a glance: “Salem University” in regal purple speaks to prestige, set against a serene blue field symbolizing peace. At its heart, an open book on a golden pillar represents knowledge and character, flanked by wheat sheaves for fruitfulness and nine stars that light the world. Above, a rising sun breaks through blue to show how even a small spark of learning can drive away darkness. Together, these colors and symbols remind us that our graduates lead with excellence, integrity, and the illuminating power of education.
