Our Learning Technology Team enhances teaching and learning through expert guidance, training, and consultation. They assist staff and students in using NILE and provide support for technology-enabled teaching, digital assessments, and student engagement. The team includes Learning Technologists, a Learning Support Analyst, a Student Engagement Manager, and an E-Learning/Multimedia Developer dedicated to improving digital learning experiences.
MHFA is an internationally recognised course that teaches how to identify signs of mental ill health and provide first-aid support. Like physical first aid, it helps you listen, reassure, and respond in crises. The training strengthens practical and interpersonal skills, deepens understanding of mental health, and raises awareness of factors affecting wellbeing, including your own.
The University of Northampton Archive was officially opened in September 2010 and houses the historical records of the institution. These date back to 11 March, 1867 when a free public lecture on science and art was held in Northampton Town Hall. As a result of its popularity, evening classes in electricity and magnetism were started in October of the same year and the journey to today’s University of Northampton began.

Born in 1962, the young Richard Coles grew up in Northamptonshire and attended Wellingborough School where he was a chorister until adolescence wrecked his voice and revealed his sexuality. Age 18, as a gay runaway he moved to London try to find a liveable life, and there met Glaswegian singer Jimmy Somerville. In 1983, Richard was invited by Jimmy to join his band, Bronski Beat, as a sax player and the following year the duo left to form The Communards — named after the short-lived 1871 Paris Commune formed in the wake of the French defeat in the Franco-Prussian War.
More recently, Dayo has been working for HSBC, firstly leading the implementation and embedding of a new Operational Risk Management framework in their Digital Bank and subsequently leading risk governance and oversight activities for the Wealth and Personal Banking division for resilience and cyber security risks specifically.
Dayo is very passionate about equality and fairness and believes higher education can be a strong tool in addressing many issues in the world today. Dayo also chairs the board of trustees for a local charity.
Education has an extensive history in Northampton dating back to the 13th century whilst the University of Northampton has evolved from the beginning of the 20th century.

Northampton Technical College was established.
1932
St George’s Avenue building was opened by the Duke and Duchess of York.
1937
The School of Art opened.
1972
Margaret Thatcher opened the College of Education at Park Campus.
