Postgraduate Admission Requirments

  • Most of our postgraduate programmes require a minimum of a lower second class degree from a recognized university. 
  • We also consider professional qualifications that are deemed to be equivalent. However, in some cases, particularly if you're looking to study a conversion courses, you may require a 2:1.

These include gas and liquid chromatographic separations together with Mass spectrometric detectors for the analysis of unknown compounds as well as quantification of specific chemicals of interest.

    r graduating, Ranvir worked at BBC Radio Lancashire for six months before joining BBC GMR (now BBC Radio Manchester). She worked as a newsreader, reporter and drive-time presenter. During the 2002 Commonwealth Games, in Manchester, she fronted the station's flagship show at breakfast, leading the news updates, and undertook numerous outside broadcasts from the Games.

We have a long and proud history, which can be traced back to 1828. We believe in the spirit of opportunity for all, which is the same motto and ethos as when we were created as the Institution for the Diffusion of Knowledge.

  • 1828 – Founded as the ‘Institution for the Diffusion of Knowledge’.
  • 1882 – Following a substantial donation from the Trustees of Edmund Robert Harris, we changed our name to the ‘Harris Institute’.
  • 1956 – Following a government re-organisation of technical education, our name changed to the ‘Harris College’.

  • 1984 – Preston Polytechnic changed its name to ‘Lancashire Polytechnic’.

  • 2007 – New logo to emphasise the abbreviation 'UCLan'.
