Ebrahim’s academic background is in public policy and policy analysis. He taught as a lecturer and senior lecturer in Education for 18 years before moving into academic management where he served as provost, assistant vice-chancellor (student experience) and pro-vice chancellor academic. Ebrahim has served as Deputy Leader of Bolton Council; has worked closely with the devolved Greater Manchester Combined Authority, where he held the role of Deputy for Economic Strategy and Internationalisation; and has served as a board member of the Manchester Growth Company. He has also held senior board roles in the NHS as the Chair of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals and the Deputy Chair of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System. Ebrahim was appointed by the Government to the Commission on Integration and Cohesion and has served as a Rapporteur at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
Christine has had a number of roles within higher education, with expertise in leadership, governance and compliance management, HR and EDI management, resource planning and business continuity, as well as success in delivering transformational change programmes to create improvements and efficiencies. She has worked at the Higher Education Funding Council for England, University of Bristol, and Cardiff Metropolitan University, and outside of HE has led on the creation of Somerset West and Taunton Council as part of a merger of two existing local authorities.
With extensive experience of the Higher Education sector and a track record of delivery, Pete works collaboratively with colleagues and partners to drive continuous improvement and excellence across our professional services. Pete joined the University in October 2024 as Interim Chief Financial Officer, with oversight of various professional services operations including Finance, Procurement, Estates and IT.
Gill is the university lead for regional engagement with our local Further Education Colleges, City Council and Local Authorities related to education and skills development. She represents the university on the Walsall Proud Partnership 2040 group.

The foundation stone was laid by HRH Prince George in 1932 and in 1933 the Wolverhampton and Staffordshire Technical College was born. With further education traditionally accessible only to the wealthy, the College vowed to ensure that even the most under-privileged men and women would have the opportunity to study a higher education – an ethos nurtured and sustained to the present day.
