  • Accommodation: The Ambrose campus has two residence buildings, each one built to house 242 students and designed to promote community and ensure students’ safety and security. Each floor of the residence buildings is divided into two pods. Each pod has 12 rooms that open onto a central common area. Each pod also has a small kitchenette with a fridge, a microwave, a sink, and cabinets for student use.
  • Library: Ambrose Library is open to the public and everyone is welcome! The library supports the learning, teaching, and research activities of Ambrose University through its collection of academic resources that serve all educational programs.
  • Laboratory: Ambrose University has laboratories for its science programs, as students in the biology program conduct lab work and develop practical research techniques.
  • Research Center: Ambrose University has a research center called the Jaffray Centre for Global Initiatives, as well as other research institutes and activities. The university also hosts the Canadian Poverty Institute and has faculty-supervised independent research opportunities for students. 
  • Gym: The fitness centre is a place for athletes and non-athletes to lift weights, do some cardio, and improve their overall fitness level. This facility has state-of-the-art equipment and a fantastic northwest view of the Rocky Mountains.
  • Sports: The Ambrose gym—or the Lions’ Den, as they call it—has a seating capacity of 600 for athletic events. It’s the home of the Ambrose Lions Basketball, Futsal and Volleyball teams, as well as intramural activities! Current students and staff are welcome to come to the gym during open gym times for shooting around and hanging out with friends.
  • Place of Worship: On campus there is a quiet place where you can go to pray alone or with a small group. This beautiful, small space has been designed specifically to help you retreat from the busyness of your day-to-day life and direct your thoughts toward Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The residence buildings also each have rooms set aside for quiet prayer.
  • Cafeteria: Ambrose University in Calgary has a cafeteria called "The Calf". It is located on the first floor of the main campus building and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on weekdays, and for brunch and dinner on weekends. The cafeteria accepts meal plan swipes, cash, and cards.

History

Ambrose was formed in 2007 when Alliance University College and Nazarene University College joined together to provide new and stronger academic programming to a broader public. In 2008, Ambrose moved to a 40-acre campus in southwest Calgary with capacity to accommodate 1,000 students in its growing program offerings.
