  • Laboratory: The Environmental and Analytical Laboratories (EAL) provides an analytical commercial and research testing service catering to councils, industry, individuals, researchers and students. The Food and Soil Laboratory will open in Port Macquarie in 2015 providing an analytical commercial and research testing service catering to councils, industry, individuals, researchers and students. Services can be supplied through the Environmental and Analytical Laboratory in Wagga Wagga in the meantime.

 

  • Sports: Basketball court on the Albury campus. Small grassed area at Thurgoona residences for kicking footballs, throwing Frisbees, etc. Hume and Hovell walking track cuts through Thurgoona campus. Bike track that links most of Albury and Wodonga is adjacent Thurgoona campus. Thurgoona tennis courts (a few hundred metres from the campus). Ovals with lighting for soccer, rugby league and rugby union. Training oval with lights. Fully equipped exercise gym. Outdoor sports area catering for tennis, netball and basketball with lighting. Indoor sports arena catering for indoor sports such as futsal, basketball, netball, volley ball etc.

 

  • Cafeteria: CHEERS is Charles Sturt University’s in-house food, retail and entertainment department. We offer a diverse selection of venues, innovative catering and outstanding service.

The position was responsible for the strategic leadership of curriculum and course design, as well as academic quality assurance and TEQSA compliance. His other roles at UWA included Head of the School of Social Sciences and Dean of Postgraduate Coursework.

    Professor Smith’s career includes founding the Charles Sturt School of Rural Medicine, the Biosecurity Training Centre, and the Three Rivers Department of Rural Health. Originally trained as a clinical physiotherapist, she transitioned to academia driven by her passion for teaching and research. She holds a PhD in clinical reasoning and decision-making and is a published author influencing clinical reasoning, work-integrated learning, and inter-professional practice.

    Renowned for her strategic and supportive leadership, Professor Smith is committed to improving rural science and health outcomes through genuine partnerships. She is dedicated to improving rural sustainability through the Faculty’s teaching and research in agriculture and environmental management.

History

Whilst we've been a university for more than 20 years, our history of professional education and research spans more than 100 years. This started with the establishment of the Wagga Experiment Farm in 1892.

Charles Napier Sturt was one of the most important explorers in early Australian history. Sturt sailed to NSW in 1827 and began exploring the region. Charles Sturt University dates back to 1892, when the Wagga Experiment Farm was established. Regional institutions in south-western and western NSW were progressively merged, and Charles Sturt University was formally incorporated on 19 July 1989.
