Founded in 1952 with the founding philosophy of “benefiting the world widely,” Chonnam National University's College of Engineering is a representative college of a regional national university that has been in sync with the modern history of the Republic of Korea for the past 72 years.
To date, a total of 44,457 alumni, including 35,533 bachelor's degrees in engineering, 7,528 master's degrees in engineering, and 1,396 doctoral degrees in engineering, are active as top-level professional and technical personnel in domestic and international industries, academia, and research institutes. Currently, our university is developing into a representative college of engineering in the Republic of Korea with 167 professors, approximately 5,000 undergraduate students, and approximately 1,000 master's and doctoral students and researchers in 12 departments(divisions) dedicated to education and research.
In order to become a world-class college of engineering, our university operates joint research and student exchange programs, joint and dual degree programs with prestigious overseas universities, and helps students develop a global mindset and international sensibility. In addition, we are establishing demand-centered education and implementing an engineering education accreditation system that satisfies students, industries, and parents, and fosters talents that the future society needs. In addition, we are operating Kakao Tech Campus and GS Caltex industry-university courses, and we are also operating numerous education and research support projects supported by the government, such as the National University Promotion Project, LINC3.0 Project, Semiconductor Specialized University Project, Intelligent Innovation G5-AICT Center, Software-centered University Project, Energy+AI Core Talent Training Education and Research Project, and 4th Stage BK21 8 Education and Research Groups(Teams).
