  1. CUE C.A.R.E.S. Support Program

    CUE C.A.R.E.S. is Concordia University of Edmonton’s integrated support system that addresses concerning behaviour, from poor academic performance to disruptive or escalating issues. It unifies several teams—Behavioural Support & Intervention, Gender-Based Violence Response, Domestic Violence Support, Early Alert, and Non-Academic Misconduct—into one coordinated, campus-wide program.

    The project plans to address these issues by providing mentorship, networking, career and resilience-building opportunities to develop key skills, self-esteem, a sense of belonging, and ultimately improve career outcomes among a diverse group of Black students of African and Caribbean descent in post-secondary institutes across Edmonton.

     


     

  5. Building Healthy Communities: Mentorship and Resilience Project

    Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) has partnered with NorQuest College, Boys & Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton & Area, and CUE’s Black Students Association, to develop Building Healthy Communities, a Black youth (18+) Students Mentorship and Resilience Project.

Postgraduate Admission Requirments

To be considered for the Faculty of Graduate Studies, all applicants must present the following minimum requirements:

  • A four-year baccalaureate degree from Concordia University of Edmonton or its equivalent from a recognized institution. Individual graduate programs may recommend applicants as qualifying/probationary students (e.g., those with three-year degrees).
  • An admission grade point average (AGPA) of 3.0 (on Concordia University of Edmonton’s 4-point scale) or equivalent on the most recent 60 credits of undergraduate (or graduate) study.
  • Demonstrated fulfilment of the English Language Requirement.

  • Sport: At approximately 11,000 square feet, Concordia University of Edmonton’s gymnasium is ideal for most indoor sporting activities. With a full size basketball and volleyball court, the gym has the ability to transform into two cross courts with use of a divider curtain. The gymnasium also has retractable risers that can be pulled out for events that require spectator seating.

 

  • Accommodation: Concordia University of Edmonton has two traditional-style dormitories that are available for group rentals from May 15 – August 15 each year. The dormitories are an excellent choice for groups looking for cost effective lodgings and a community atmosphere while visiting Edmonton. They also provide the benefit of being centrally located within the city, just minutes from downtown and within walking distance of Rexall Place, Northlands Park, and the Edmonton EXPO Centre.

 

  • Cafeteria: Visit to view menus, hours of operation and specials available at the Founder’s Hall Market (main cafeteria) or Bistro Cafe on campus.

Dr Tim Loreman is Concordia University of Edmonton’s 8th president as of January 1st, 2017. Dr. Loreman was previously the Vice-President Academic and Provost at Concordia University of Edmonton. has held visiting professorships at the Hong Kong Institute for Education, the University of Bologna, and Queens University Belfast. He has been involved in a number of major Canadian and international research grants along with large international studies on inclusive education. Dr. Arth is registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers and specializes in Narrative and Positive Psychology Practice, mainly working in private practice, and consulting with community agencies and school divisions to support them in creating transformative systemic change.

    Beginning his career as an elementary school science teacher, Mr. Huehn transitioned to business when he joined Topco Oilsite Products Ltd., as their Technical Manager, after completing a BSc with a major in Chemistry at Queen’s University. Thanks to his unquenchable optimism and cheerful demeanour, he is a sought-after speaker and supporter in his field. He has served on a variety of industry and private corporate boards, including a member of the Modern Miracle Network, the former Chair of the Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC), and as a Chair of the STARS and Spurs annual PSAC fundraiser. Mr. Huehn’s community spirit has also been recognized with the awarding of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal and the Alberta Centennial Medal.

Concordia University of Edmonton is a university that values its history and traditions, knowing that it provides a solid foundation to all of its students for the future.

For a century, Concordia University of Edmonton has been part of a growing Edmonton and an important educational institution in the province of Alberta. The university began as the realization of a dream of German Lutheran immigrants who highly valued the worth of an education. Since then, Concordia University of Edmonton has evolved to become one of the City of Edmonton’s best smaller universities and professional degree granting institutions. It is now recognized globally as a university committed to academic excellence in teaching and research, welcoming nearly 3,000 students annually from across Canada and from over 40 countries around the world.

1921 – Concordia College is founded by the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod to prepare young men for preaching and teaching ministries.
1939 – The college expands to include women and to offer general courses of study and an accredited high school program.
1967 – Concordia begins offering first-year university courses in affiliation with the University of Alberta.
1975 – Affiliation with the University of Alberta begins for second-year university courses.
1987 – Concordia becomes a degree-granting institution.
1991 – Formal affiliation with the University of Alberta ends by mutual agreement.
1995 – Concordia College changes its name to Concordia University College of Alberta to reflect its status as a degree-granting institution.
2015 – Concordia University College of Alberta becomes Concordia University of Edmonton.
2021 – Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) turns 100!

Today, Concordia University of Edmonton offers over 45 majors and minors in the fields of Arts, Science and Management, along with After-Degree programs (in Education and Environmental Health), Masters Degrees, a Doctorate, and a suite of Graduate Certificates and Graduate Diplomas in high demand areas.
