Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) has partnered with NorQuest College, Boys & Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton & Area, and CUE’s Black Students Association, to develop Building Healthy Communities, a Black youth (18+) Students Mentorship and Resilience Project.

Beginning his career as an elementary school science teacher, Mr. Huehn transitioned to business when he joined Topco Oilsite Products Ltd., as their Technical Manager, after completing a BSc with a major in Chemistry at Queen’s University. Thanks to his unquenchable optimism and cheerful demeanour, he is a sought-after speaker and supporter in his field. He has served on a variety of industry and private corporate boards, including a member of the Modern Miracle Network, the former Chair of the Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC), and as a Chair of the STARS and Spurs annual PSAC fundraiser. Mr. Huehn’s community spirit has also been recognized with the awarding of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal and the Alberta Centennial Medal.
For a century, Concordia University of Edmonton has been part of a growing Edmonton and an important educational institution in the province of Alberta. Since then, Concordia University of Edmonton has evolved to become one of the City of Edmonton’s best smaller universities and professional degree granting institutions. It is now recognized globally as a university committed to academic excellence in teaching and research, welcoming nearly 3,000 students annually from across Canada and from over 40 countries around the world.
1921 – Concordia College is founded by the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod to prepare young men for preaching and teaching ministries.
1939 – The college expands to include women and to offer general courses of study and an accredited high school program.
1967 – Concordia begins offering first-year university courses in affiliation with the University of Alberta.
1975 – Affiliation with the University of Alberta begins for second-year university courses.
1987 – Concordia becomes a degree-granting institution.
1991 – Formal affiliation with the University of Alberta ends by mutual agreement.
1995 – Concordia College changes its name to Concordia University College of Alberta to reflect its status as a degree-granting institution.
2015 – Concordia University College of Alberta becomes Concordia University of Edmonton.
2021 – Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) turns 100!
Today, Concordia University of Edmonton offers over 45 majors and minors in the fields of Arts, Science and Management, along with After-Degree programs (in Education and Environmental Health), Masters Degrees, a Doctorate, and a suite of Graduate Certificates and Graduate Diplomas in high demand areas.
