  • Library: Redeemer University in Canada has a library called the Peter Turkstra Library. It provides resources for the Christian liberal arts and sciences curriculum, including books, online databases, and special collections, along with spaces for individual and group study.
  • Laboratory: Redeemer University in Canada has laboratories for its science and health sciences programs. Students in these programs participate in hands-on learning experiences, including lab work, which is supported by faculty and provides real-world research opportunities.  
  • Accommodation: Redeemer University Canada has accommodation for students, including townhouse residences and apartment-style living in buildings like Augustine Hall and Luther Court.
  • Sports: Redeemer University in Canada has various sports facilities, including a large sports complex with a domed indoor field and an outdoor field, a gymnasium with a basketball and volleyball court, a fitness center, and other courts like badminton, racquetball, and tennis. The university also offers facilities for community use. 
  • Gym: The Athletics Centre (AC) is Redeemers' primary health and fitness site on campus, a large multipurpose area with state-of-the-art Matrix conditioning equipment. The AC also offers two half gymnasiums for open play and is the home of Origin Physiotherapy. 
  • Place of Worship: Through Redeemer's campus ministry, you'll find places for quiet reflection, shared devotion, off-campus outreach and community worship.
  • Cafeteria: Each student receives a Redeemer OneCard loaded with their selected meal plan and dining dollars. Students can purchase items at Refresh, Tim Hortons and The Market with their dining dollars. Incoming students select a meal plan as part of the application for admission process.

History

The college opened in 1982 as "Redeemer College", with 97 full-time and 63 part-time students. This number grew to about 250 for the 1985–1986 academic year, the final year classes met in facilities rented from the Board of Education of the City of Hamilton. In 1985 the college purchased 78 acres (32 ha) of land in Ancaster, Ontario for the construction of a new campus. The college occupied the new facilities in August 1986 and welcomed 279 full-time students in September. In November 1986, the college held its first graduation, with 40 students graduating.

f Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees. Prior to that time, the college conferred a Bachelor of Christian Studies degree which was recognized by the AUCC (Association of Universities & Colleges of Canada) as comparable to the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree.

On June 26, 2003, the Ontario Government passed Bill Pr14, granting Redeemer the authority to offer a Bachelor of Education degree to replace its B.C.Ed. degree. On December 10, 2003, the new teacher education (B.Ed.) program was granted initial accreditation by the Ontario College of Teachers, giving Redeemer the only provincially recognized Christian teacher education program (K-10) in Ontario.
