Admission

Undergraduate Admission Requirement

Admission Requirements for International Baccalaureate Students

  • Students who complete the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma?with a minimum score of 24 will be considered for admission. 
  • Minimum grade requirement for any subject is 3. 
  • Students can submit predicted or anticipated results for early fall admission and scholarship purposes.
  • Proof of English proficiency is not required if you have successfully completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma with English Language A.

English Language Requirements

Students whose first language is not English are normally required to submit proof of English language proficiency. When proof of English language proficiency is required, you must achieve a minimum score or above on a recognized English language proficiency test.

  • Library: The StFX University Library was housed in several different buildings prior to the construction of the current Angus L. Macdonald Library. Drawing on information from the University Archives, as well as from the book For the People, A History of St. Francis Xavier University (1996), by retired StFX history professor Dr. James Cameron, here are a few significant notes related to the Library’s history.   • Accommodation: University Housing provides support to StFX students for both accommodations and dining on campus. At StFX, you will find various styles of residence across our beautiful campus. We offer traditional rooms, suites, and apartments. StFX is home to a variety of food outlets, including our main dining hall, Morrison Hall, and several cafes, including a Starbucks.

  

  • Research Centers: The Centre for Biofouling Research is an interdisciplinary team researching biofouling and?cost effective and environmentally friendly antifouling solutions to manage biofouling. Biofouling occurs worldwide in various industries including offshore oil and gas drilling, aquaculture, and shipping. There is a large demand for non-toxic antifouling solutions with low maintenance and lifecycle costs. The Centre designs antifouling technologies and demonstrates the effectiveness of these biofouling resistant surfaces for submerged infrastructure. We tend to focus on (but are not limited to)?colder ocean conditions such as those found in the North Atlantic.
