International Students:

General admission requirements

To study at the University of Manitoba you must meet the following three general admission requirements:

  1. You must demonstrate English language proficiency
    and
  2. You must meet one of these two requirements:
    • the general admission requirement based on your country of study
      or
    • the general admission requirement based on your curriculum of study
      and
  3. You must meet program-specific requirements based on program(s) of choice. Check your country for program specific equivalencies, or contact the University admissions office at [email protected] for details.

Postgraduate Admission Requirments

General admission requirements

To study as a graduate student at the University of Manitoba: 
1.    You must demonstrate English language proficiency
AND
2.    You must have a four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized college or university with a minimum B average (3.0) in the last 60 credit hours or equivalent. 

Some departments may have higher standards and additional criteria. These may include confirmation from a prospective supervisor; admissions tests such as the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT); and a statement of research interests or experience in the field.

arroch served as Provost and Vice-President (Academic) at Toronto Metropolitan University from 2017 to 2020, acting as the institution’s chief academic and operating officer, as well as a tenured professor in the department of Economics, Faculty of Arts. He served as the Dean of the I.H. Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba from 2011 to 2017 and enjoyed a 21-year-career with the University of Winnipeg, where he was chair of the department of Economics (1999 to 2007) and served as the university’s Faculty of Business and Economics founding dean from 2008 to 2011.

    cademic Affairs) from 2016 to 2021. An accomplished researcher, clinician, mentor, and administrator, Dr. Hiebert-Murphy is an experienced consensus builder who brings a trusted and confident voice in leading and empowering others. Her strong commitment to teaching and clinical research supervision also inform her approach to leadership.

    Dr. Hiebert-Murphy's other past administrative work includes Associate Dean, Research and Graduate Programs in the Faculty of Social Work; Associate Dean in the Faculty of Graduate Studies; and Associate Director of the Psychological Service Centre. During her time as Vice-Provost, she also assumed the position of Acting Dean, Faculty of Social Work. 

    She obtained a BSW, MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Manitoba, completing a clinical internship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She is a Professor in UM's Faculty of Social Work and the Psychological Service Centre in the Faculty of Arts.

Winnipeg and spur many other initiatives like the Winnipeg BOLD initiative - a grassroots public policy campaign designed to mobilize the community behind BOLD ideas for the future that are linked to increasing prosperity in the city.
