Henry S. Bienen was one of the first three university presidents awarded the Carnegie Corporation Academic Leadership Award for innovative leadership in higher education. The honor carries a $500,000 award for the institution and recognizes leaders of institutions of higher education who have demonstrated an abiding commitment to liberal arts and who have initiated and supported curricular innovations, including development of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary programs that aim to bridge the gulf between the theoretical and the practical. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Perreault is a biomedical engineer whose research focuses on understanding the neural and biomechanical factors involved in the control of movement and posture and how these factors are modified following injury or disease. This innovative work has important applications for neuroprosthetic control and rehabilitation following stroke or musculoskeletal injuries.
Passionate about both his research and his administrative service, Perreault is a senior leader who has contributed to Northwestern and his field in numerous ways, notably as associate dean for research administration and oversight at the McCormick School; as chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering; and as chair of the National Advisory Board for Medical Rehabilitation Research.

Before coming to Northwestern, Allen served as director of development for Trinity College of Arts & Sciences at Duke University, where she solicited and closed major gifts while also managing the major gifts team and working with the Trinity Board of Visitors. She began her development career at the University of Chicago, working in the office of annual giving for seven years.
