The clear concept of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences is convincing because it consistently combines science and innovation. In Bernburg, Dessau and Köthen, they offer innovative research and teaching at an international level. They also offer a good quality of study and life for around 7,100 students, 2,500 of whom have an international flair. The Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in the various Departments have one thing in common - in addition to imparting specialist knowledge, they prepare students for a successful career start.

All degree programs at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences are designed to be practice-oriented. Students' ideas are tested directly for their practical suitability. Mission

Innovation, cosmopolitanism, creativity and culture are traditions of the Anhalt region to which Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, with its three campuses in Bernburg, Dessau and Köthen, feels particularly committed. The university is thus committed to making a significant contribution to the economic and social development of the region and the state of Saxony-Anhalt through its practice-oriented education and applied research.

The mission statement of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences sets out the goals by which its staff and students act. It explains the general self-image of the university to the public and articulates the willingness of its staff and students to commit themselves to these goals. It is thus the basis for the decisions of the various university committees and their practical implementation, and motivates staff and students to further increase the attractiveness of Anhalt University.

Undergraduate Admission Requirement

General requirements

To study a bachelor's degree program at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, you need a university entrance qualification (HZB). This is usually the general university entrance qualification (Abitur) or the subject-specific university entrance qualification. However, there are other qualifications that also entitle you to study. If your HZB is limited to the issuing federal state (indicated in your certificate), it may also be recognized in Saxony-Anhalt.

Postgraduate Admission Requirments

Further details regarding admission to a course of study are regulated in § 1 of the currently valid study and examination regulations of the respective course of study in conjunction with the Higher Education Act of the State of Saxony-Anhalt and the  Higher Education Qualification Ordinance of the State of Saxony-Anhalt.

    History

    In the 19th century the Higher Technical Institute at Köthen provided engineers were educated with three years of study in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemistry, metallurgy, and brick or ceramic art.
     

    Higher education at the Köthen site is more than 125 years old. The focus has always been on teaching and research in the applied sciences. After the closure of Köthen Technical University, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences resumed operations under new conditions in 1991.     logy Center, a further research location was created in 1988, to the planning and construction of which the Institute made a significant contribution.

    The participating eight founding members on July 17, 1995 included the following instructors or professors: Henry Bergmann, Karl Geier, Kurt Gramlich, Günther Klappach, Klaus Lorenz, Lothar Martens, Johanna Rollin and Achim Strauss. Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Kurt Gramlich was elected as the first director of the institute.
